Are you on the East side of the US with a free weekend? We suggest you get yourself to Savannah GA! Our favorite things about the city?
- Amazing southern food.
- Friendly people just waiting to call you ‘Darlin’, ‘Sweetheart’ and ‘Child’.
- Live Oak trees covered in Spanish Moss. Seriously. This alone is worth the trip.
- Beautiful historic buildings.
Here are some of the highlights of our long weekend.
The streets are lined with interesting shops. In this pic we’re checking out a store dedicated solely to salt…more different kinds of salt that you could imagine. Colonial Park Cemetery. It’s BEAUTIFUL. Give yourself at least 20 minutes to wander around and read the gravestones. Hanging out on the steps of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
A quick visit to Paula Deen’s home town restaurant Lady & Sons.
There are SO MANY good places to visit in Savannah. This is just a small glimpse into our adventures. If you’re going, here are a few suggestions, but please, go wherever the wind blows you. You can’t go wrong.
