SAVANNAH WEEKEND!

Are you on the East side of the US with a free weekend?  We suggest you get yourself to Savannah GA!  Our favorite things about the city?

  1. Amazing southern food.
  2. Friendly people just waiting to call you ‘Darlin’, ‘Sweetheart’ and ‘Child’.
  3. Live Oak trees covered in Spanish Moss.  Seriously.  This alone is worth the trip.
  4. Beautiful historic buildings.
  5. Walk-around-beer
  6. Ghosts.

Here are some of the highlights of our long weekend.

Beautiful parks and squares are everywhere.  It’s like walking into a storybook.

Walk-Around-Beer is welcome!  I’ll tell ya, it makes walking around a whole lot more enjoyable.  This is Kelsey strolling and drinking on River Street. Walk around beer welcome

Selfies are hard… 87% of the pictures taken of us end up looking like the latter…

17 Hundred 90 has a great little bar!  Not to mention a great local menu.  And surely some local ghosts.

The streets are lined with interesting shops.  In this pic we’re checking out a store dedicated solely to salt…more different kinds of salt that you could imagine.  IMG_7235Colonial Park Cemetery.  It’s BEAUTIFUL. Give yourself at least 20 minutes to wander around and read the gravestones. IMG_7320IMG_7270Hanging out on the steps of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

If you’ve got an extra day, a 30 minute drive will get you to Tybee Island.  The dip in the Atlantic was just what we needed to fend off the summer time heat. We saw 2 dolphins and 0 sharks.
